UTStarcom Wins Contracts from Sichuan Province for the PTN Commercial Deployment in China's Next Generation Broadcasting (NGB) Network

BEIJING, Dec. 23, 2010 /PRNewswire-Asia-FirstCall/ -- UTStarcom, Inc. ("UTStarcom" or "the Company") (Nasdaq: UTSI) a global leader in IP-based, entd-to-end networking solutions and international service and support in China today announced that it has won the bids to provide the equipment and platform for the regional Packet Transport Network (PTN) for the Radio & TV Network Centers in Guangan City and Shehong County inside Sichuan Province.
After deployment of the UTStarcom solution, both Radio & TV Network Centers will be able to provide Video-on-demand (VOD) and data broadcasting services and other value added services within its cable TV network.
